The death of Mr. Percy James Hoyland White, a prominent New Plymouth business man and educationist, occurred suddenly today when he collapsed while playing bowls. He was born in 1874 at Great Gtrimsby, England, and on coming to New Zealand he was employed at Auckland until 1896, when he joined his father in the drapery business at New Plymouth. He was president of the New Zealand Drapers' Federation in 1926.
