Near Rockville, Nov. 13th, 1864, Peleg M. Jacques, aged 25 years. The deceased returned from the Government service (having been in the Navy) about the 16th of July. Though sick with fever, he was not considered dangerously ill, until attacked with hemorrhage of the bowels, which in a few hours terminated his life. His remains were carried to the grave by friends in mournful silence, leaving four others at the house sick with fever, unable to attend the burial service. May his associated learn the important lesson of preparation in health for the solemnities of death.
