    In DeRuyter, N. Y., Jan. 28th, 1875, Mr. Paul Maxson, in the 68th year of his age. Bro. Maxson formerly lived in Preston, Chenango county, and was a member of the Sabbath-keeping church in that place. He was a kind hearted parent, an affectionate husband, a Christ-loving disciple, and highly esteemed by all who knew him.
    He left a wife and one daughter, who was married just a month before his death, and also one brother, Russel Maxson, of Leonardsville. His remains were taken to Preston for interment, where his funeral was largely attended by his old friends and neighbors, among whom he had lived for many years. A discourse was preached from Rom. 8: 17. A. W. C.
