    KIRKSVILLE MAN TAKES OWN LIFE

    Paul Henry Maize, who took his own life last Friday at his home in Kirksville, was buried Monday afternoon. Funeral services were held at the Dee Riley funeral home in charge of the Rev. L. V. Freeman. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery.

    Maize had joined the Navy Friday afternoon, and went to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eph Maize in Kirksville, paid his mother some money he had borrowed from her, and took a .22 rifle and shot himself in a room adjoining one where his father was sitting. He shot himself in the head. He was take to a Kirksville hospital where he lived two hours.

    He was born in Kirksville in 1912. He attended the public schools and was later employed by the Wabash railroad.

    He was married to Miss. Thelma M. Lacore on April 17, 1930, and they were divorced. On July 4, 1941, he was married to Miss Esther Thompson. Surviving besides his parents and widow, are one brother, Cpl. Henry George Maize who is stationed at Camp Robinson, Ark., a nephew, seven uncles and two aunts, and 25 cousins.
