Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home for Paul Richard Bayless, 76, Topeka, who died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, at a Topeka hospital.
He was born April 12, 1925, in Auburn, to Charles L. and Mabel Dutcher Bayless, and lived in Topeka since 1939. He was a truck driver for Hill's Packing Co., in Topeka.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He married Wyoma Jean McFarland on Oct. 31, 1946, in Topeka. She died Sept. 3, 1985. A daughter, Judy Bayless, died Feb. 4, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula Young, Golden, Colo.; two brothers, Allen Bayless, Potosi, Mo., and Alvin Bayless, St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Sylvia Hannahan, Kansas City, Kan.; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery west of Auburn. Mr. Bayless will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
