  2. ↑ The Find A Grave memorial obviously thinks Patience is the "Patty" Gilbert, b. Brookfield 13 Feb 1785 to John and Betty Gilbert (Brookfield VRs, p. 98). This presumably is the same Patience Gilbert who married Lott Richardson in Boston in 1808 (Boston Marriages 1700-1809,Vol. 2, p. 268). This is far from obvious, and research has yet to resolve various issues:
    *Patty is usually a nickname for Martha and the birth record is so alphabetized by ma-vitalrecords.org ([2]).
    *John Gilbert d. 1806 and his probate does not name all his children (judge names some, then mentions the 6 others who have received no advance during his lifetime), and in particular, no mention is found of Martha or Patience (Worcester Probate 23662).
    *No knowledge of Lott Richardson has been found, in particular, no death date or probate. Appears to not be listed in the Richardson Memorial.
    *The birthdate is a couple of years off from the age at death. (75, per death record, is off 2 years, and 76, per gravestone, is off 3 years.)
    *The locations of birth, first marriage, and second marriage are all different with nothing to tie them together.
    Until some evidence can be found this appears to be naive name matching.
