    Case 65702 Wilder Patience Lancaster 1829.

    10 Mar 1829: Petition of Nathan Burditt that Patience Wilder late of Lancaster widow died intestate "sometime in the fall of the year now last past" and petition is a creditor and parys some person may be appointed to administer the estate.
    10 Mar 1829: Stephen Sargent, "heir and next of kin to Patience Wilder late of Lancaster in the County of Worcester widow deceased intestate" declines his right of administration, requests Moses Smith of Lancaster to be appointed.
    21 Mar 1829: Bond of Moses Smith Esqr of Lancaster as administrator of Patience Wilder late of Lancaster deceased.
    26 Mar 1829 (warrant 21 Mar 1829): Inventory of Patience Wilder late of Lancaster deceased: not totaled, by Jacob Fisher, Austin Davis, Sam'l Carter.

  3. It is assumed that Sargent was the maiden name due to the presence of the title "Miss" in both the record of marriage and intentions. Patience's origins have not been identified so this could be wrong, but the use of Miss for a married woman peaked mid-1700s and would be unusual at this time. Her relationship to Stephen Sargent is unknown. He appears, based on a marriage in 1801, to be young enough to possibly be a son, but his birth record has not been located/identified so this cannot be confirmed.
