- ↑ That Charles Harrington Jr. had a wife named Patience is know from several deeds, for example, Union County, SC, 3 Jul 1789 "Chas Harrington and his wife Patience" sold to Robert Rethurford Senr. Though it is frequently speculated that she is the daughter of Valentine Braswell Jr. and Patience (possibly Strickland) of Wake County, NC, no children are mentioned in Valentine's will of 1791 and no marriage record has been found.
