30 Dec 1777 Whereas Complaint hath been made unto this Council that Pardon Baker of this Town, spends much of his time and money at Taverns, and is likely to bring himself [and] family to want and misery, and thereby become Chargeable to this Town, the Council upon due Consideration had thereon do hereby appoint his Brother Moses Baker his Guardian, to have the care of his person & estate. ....
