    Illness Fatal To Otis Edwards

    Otis Daniel Edwards, long time resident of this community, passed away at the Silver Haven Nursing Home in Bloomfield, Iowa, Sunday evening, Dec. 22, 1968 at the age of 76 years. He had been in poor health for some time. He was born south of Moulton on Sept. 21, 1892, the son of Tabitha and Daniel Edwards. Mr. Edwards was educated in the Moulton schools and spent most of his life in this community. He was married to the former Elsie Burgess, who survives his passing along with the following ten children: Mrs. Charles (Daphne) Keller of Centerville, Ia.; William E. Edwards, of Louisville, Ohio; Ronald G. Edwards, at home; Mrs. Marvin (Joanne) Blazer of Canton, Ohio; James C. Edwards of Novato, Calif.; Ted O. Edwards of Cedar Rapids. Ia.; David L. Edwards of Moulton; Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Bentzinger of Des Moines, la.; Paul B. Edwards of Washington, Penn.; and Phillip S. Edwards of Leesville, La. Also 23 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two half-brothers, and one half-sister. Mr. Edwards was a member of the United Methodist Church and a Mason. During his lifetime he devoted many years to community service. He had been a member of the Moulton schoolboard and was a city councilman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 26th at the MoultonUnited Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. conducted by the pastor, Rev. Laurence Hawes. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. The family requests no flowers. Memorial gifts for the organ fund of the Moulton United Methodist Church may be left at the Moulton office of the Davis County Savings Bank, or with Rev. Laurence Hawes.
