HOUGHTON, Ostrander, [died] Oct. 26, 1844, a. 28 y. 11 m. 6 d. Typhus fever.
↑ Sutton VRs, p. 286, show the intentions of Ostrander Houghton and Lucinda Young on 29 May 1842. The name is so unique that it is unlikely it was anybody else. It is only 2 years until he married Emeline Nelson, so Lucinda either died very soon after the intentions, or the intentions were abandoned. Since there is no death record found, presumably the marriage never happened.
