Wilemon, Elden

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Snead Memorial United Methodist Church "Cove" for Mr. Elden Wilemon, 69, Altoona, who died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003. The Revs. Mark Howington, Mark Mayo and Bradley Tidwell will officiate. Burial in Samuel's Chapel Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.

Mr. Wilemon was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County. He retired after 31 years of service at Leach Manufacturing and was a member of the Boilermakers Union. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Bulah Wilemon; son, David Wilemon; and sister, Opal Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Wilemon, Altoona; sons, Adren Wilemon, Altoona, Craig Wilemon (Julie), Altoona, Columbus Wilemon (Ann), Attalla, and Merle Wilemon (Tracy), Altoona; grandchildren, Suzanna Wilemon, Danielle Wilemon, Matt Wilemon, Dillon Wilemon, Timothy Wilemon and Lacy Freeman; brothers, Carl Wilemon, Lakeland, Fla., Earl Wilemon, Frank Wilemon, Marshall Wilemon and Wendell Wilemon, all of Altoona; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Dale Tidwell, Gene Umphrey, Roger Johnson, Sammy Umphrey, Leroy Windsor, Kenny Windsor, Roy Abercrombie and Noah Battles.

Mr. Wilemon will remain at the funeral home and lie in state one hour prior to service. Visitation will begin at 6 tonight.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crossroads of Faith Church for Wendell Byron Wilemon, 56, Altoona, who died Thursday, March 8, 2007. The Revs. George W. Reynolds Jr. and Bill Reynolds will officiate. Burial in Samuel's Chapel Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.

Wendell was a faithful member and usher at Crossroads of Faith Church in Walnut Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Bulah Wilemon; sister, Opal Smith, and brother, Elden Wilemon.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wilemon, Altoona; brothers, Carl (Jackie) Wilemon, Arab; Earl D. (Gail) Wilemon, Walnut Grove, Frank Wilemon, Altoona, Marshall (Faye) Wilemon, Attalla; granddaughters, Hailee Lynn Puckett, Oneonta, Matalee Marie Puckett, Oneonta; grandson, Trevor Wade Bynum, Boaz; dear friends, Bill and Janet Reynolds, Oneonta; host of nieces and nephews; and countless friends and neighbors.

Pallbearers are James Butler, Jason Bynum, Scott George, Wayne Teel, Jeremy Puckett and Mike Talton.

Special thanks to Dr. Kenny Smith and nurses on the seventh floor at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Food will be received at Crossroads of Faith Church until 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Visitation will be from 3 this afternoon until 10 tonight and up to the hour of service Sunday at Crossroads of Faith Church.
