  3. After his marriage to Sherah Johnson in 1757, there is no sign of Oliver in the records. The information in History of the Brigham Family is pretty sketchy (and no other Oliver is apparent in that work). Vol. 1, p. 92 says he was a selectman of Petersham in 1769, but no birth, marriage or death involving him is found there. Vol. 2, using information from a correspondent, indicates he had a son Oliver, but based on dates given implying grandchildren born in 1760, this correspondent appears to added a generation. Assuming it was the father, he is said to have gone from Petersham to Chesterfield, N.H., between 1776 to 1781. From various sources, it appears an Oliver Brigham helped lay out the town of Marlborough, NH, in 1762, and in 1781, an Oliver Brigham (probably the father, his son possibly not old enough since only 23 years after the marriage of the father?) signed a petition in Chesterfield, NH.
