OLIVE GERTRUDE NATIONSOlive Gertrude Nations went home to be with her Lord on March 6, 2006. She was born on March 23, 1921 in Pickens, Oklahoma. Olive was able to spend her last days comfortably at home. Many thanks to Vista Care Hospice for their assistance in making Olive’s wish to pass at home possible. Thanks also to Dr. Lucksinger and Dr. Heinrich and the Medical Staff of St. David’s and Cornerstone Hospital and Heartland SNF. Olive lived a long and happy life, seeing many changes in the world around her. She was able to remain steady in her faith of God and family.Olive raised four children while working over 25 years at the original Maudie’s Café. She was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church, and enjoyed attending the Sunday school class. Olive was preceded in death by her husbands; Henry Clay Nations and later, Fred Reed, and sister Hazel Smalling.Olive is survived by her sons Lester and Bruce Nations of Austin; daughters Linda Nations of Irving and Wanda Barnie and husband Roy of Mesa, AZ; brothers, Bill Hampton of Concord, CA, Clayton Hampton, Arnold Hampton, Coy Walters, Norman Walters all of Springfield, OR; brother in law, Lloyd Smalling of Springfield, OR; sister, Lavelle Morris of Broken Bow, OK; and grandchildren, Matthew and Krista Attebury, Ian Barne and Michelle Yates.Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, March 8, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, with Pastor Dan Gardner officiating. Graveside services will follow.
