- ↑ Ole was a postmaster at Toten in Glenwood Twp, Iowa. He was famous for the fine oxen yoke he made, as these were much in demand in pioneer times.
- ↑ Ole was a veteran of the Civil War. He was a member of the 12th Iowa Volunteer Infantry, Co. G; he was honorably discharged on 7 Dec 1865. He sustained a wound to the ankle and was for a time a prisoner at the Andersonville Prison.
