My Grandfather died before I could know him. Would like to hear some stories about him. The story was passed down through my father, Kenneth George Ottum,Olaus's youngest child, that when Olaus first came to Wisconsin he used the surname of Johnson (probably derived from Johannessen). There were a few Johnson's living in the area and their mail kept getting mixed up so my Grandpa took the name of the farm in Norway that his family came from and his surname became Ottum.
