Obituary: Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana Banner Graphic Norman Lewis Eggers, 79. Madison Tuesday, May 23, 2001. Born November 17, 1921 in Roachdale, he was the son of Cecil Calvert and Lena (Temple) Eggers. A graduate of Roachdale High School, he attended Purdue University and served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He had owned Greencastle Salvage Co. and the Town Tavern, and was a member of Applegate Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. Mural Shrine and New Winchester VFW Post 1555. In 1972, he moved to Jefferson County where he was a member of the Brooksburg Baptist Church and Madison VFW Post 1969. He had worked for Pinkerton Security Co. and retired from the the former Marble Hill construction project as a foreman. He married Edna Wriht on Feb 14 1947, She died Feb 28, 1990. Also surviving are three daughters, Jackie Hogan and husband, Dennis, Clayton, Vickie Cyrus and husband Mark, of Brooksburg, and Michelle Griffin and husband Jack, Canaan, two sons, Norman Lee Eggers and wife Beth and Robert Eggers and wife Faye all of Madison. A sister, Phyllis Collier, Indiaanapolis, and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters and a brother. Services will be a 11 a.m. Saturday at Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home, Madison with Rev. James Sparks and Rev. Jeff Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison. Visitation is 4- 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. References
