Nora L. Clement, daughter of Loyal H. and Harriet Lawton, was born at Utica, Wis., Oct. 22, 1870.
In the spring of '71 her parents settled in Orleans, Neb., where Nora grew to womanhood among the scenes and incidents common to frontier life.
She was bright and attractive as a girl of large hopes and strong purposes will be. When about 18 years of age she was graduated from the business College at Orleans. In April of 1889 she came with her parents to North Loup, Neb., where her home has since been. She was married to James Clement Oct. 15, 1892. Two children blessed this union. She died at her home after a lingering sickness, the morning of July 14, leaving a sorrowing husband alone, and the children without a mother.
The husband and children have the sympathy of the entire community. Nora was of a bright cheerful disposition, and was well liked by all who knew her, and was ever ready to aid any who might be in need.
The funeral services were held at the S. D. B. Church Sabbath morning July 15, conducted by Pastor Witter speaking from John 11: 28, 'The Master is come and calleth for thee.'
