    Noah Olmsted was commissioned Adjt. in the Herkimer Company Militia in 1793; Major in 1799. He settled in Auburn, N.Y., in 1795, where he bought the south half of Lot No. 38 for £120. He was one of the founders of the 1st Congregational Church, Sept. 17, 1810; School Trustee in 1811. He gave land for the North St. Cemetery in 1795. He was successively Adjutant, Lieut., and Major in the War of 1812.
