Visitation for Nicolaas Bronsema of Lynden will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. today at American Reformed Church of Lynden, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Monumenta Cemetery in Lynden. Mr. Bronsema died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at his home. He was 97. Born Aug. 8, 1902, to Hendrik and Martje (Heidema) Bronsema in Bedum Groningen, The Netherlands, he lived in Whatcom County for 16 years. On June 3, 1931, he married Hilda Te Bos in Groningen. She died in 1981. Mr. Bronsema was a charter member of the American Reformed Church of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Lynden and served as an elder and Christian School Board member for many years. Survivors include daughters Theresa Meester of Lynden and Martha Teitsma of Oswego, N.Y. 11 grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren and many other family members.
