From gravestone: "He was endowed with many amiable and useful accomplishments. His manners were grave, easy and pleasant. He was exemplary in extensive charity and beneficence; eminent in piety, self-denial, and victory over the world; a fervent, sound, persuasive preacher; abounding in the work of the Lord".
