DAVIS, Nehemiah, s. Nehemiah and Mary (Clark) [sic], [born] Aug. 2, 1743.
Source:Rockwell, Samuel Forbes. Davis Families of Early Roxbury and Boston, p. 123, warns that it did not trace this Nehemiah, but offers the information from a correspondent that this Nehemiah is the one who married Roxbury 1779 Katharine Dudley (at age 36?) and had a son Paul in 1782, daughter Catharine 1786 (1790 census with himself, 2 males under 16, 2 females in Roxbury). By similar speculation, one might suspect due to the lack of other apparent persons named Nehemiah Davis, that Katharine was the "w. Nehemiah" who d. 1795, and that Nehemiah m. 1804 Hannah Hall, presumably Hannah(Clark) Hall, the widow of John Hall who d. Newton 1798, a. 64??? However, this is not clear, as Nehemiah and Katharine may be the couple found in Peru, Mass., having Rebecca in 1794, and son Aaron who d. 1800. More research is needed.
