He graduated from Harvard 1747, studied theology under the direction of Rev. Samuel Cooke of Cambridge, was ordained pastor of the Milton church 13 Feb. 1751, and died among the people of his only charge. He married 1757 Elizabeth Hutchinson, born 31 Dec. 1731, died 2 May 1793, daughter of Edward and Lydia (Foster) of Boston."
