  3.   There is much confusion over various Nathaniel Pattens. There are three born about the same time:
    *Person:Nathaniel Patten (7), s/o Nathaniel and Deborah, b. Cambridge 10 Dec 1702
    *Person:Nathaniel Patten (8), s/o Thomas and Hannah, b. Billerica 1 Feb 1702/03
    *Person:Nathaniel Patton (1), s/o Nathaniel and Hannah, b. Billerica 10 Sep 1707

Based on a deed cited in the Source:Patten, Malcolm Clark. Patten Genealogy, the first one, of Cambridge, is the Nathaniel of Killingly, CT, m. (1) Anne Hutchins, m. (2) Ruth (Rugg) Johnson, d. 1779.

Because the Nathaniel of Tewksbury started having children in 1728, he is probably the older of the two remaining candidates, i.e., the second one. (The younger would not be of legal age to marry in 1727.) This second Nathaniel and wife Mary are probably the Nathaniel and Mary who executed a deed in Watertown in 1756, since no death records are found in Tewksbury.

The youngest one, by elimination appears to be the Nathaniel who married in 1734 Mary Hill and died in Stafford, CT, 1756. His widow married Nathaniel Woodward.
