    Nathaniel (Masters), Wells from Manchester, Mass., but earlier, Feb. 1649-50, a New London grantee, where his presence, also Cary Latham's, may reasonably connect him with John M. of Cambridge and Watertown, who willed to Nathl. and Abraham M. in 1639, without stating kinship. Nathl. had both Manch. and New London grants 1651; bef. June 1654 ret. to Manch. with w. Ruth, dau. of John Pickworth of Manch. and New London (Essex Q. Ct. 1: 360). York gr. 1666, but his w. still in Essex Co. in Nov. 1667. O. F. at Wells 1670. … He signed a Wells letter ab. Ind., affairs 25 Apr. 1689 (Col. Soc. Mass. 8: 127). Manch. May 1702. Adm. to wid. Ruth 1 July 1708. Inv. (Senr. of Wells), including 150 a. upland (and ho. when sold in 1715), was sworn to 28 Apr. 1714 by gr.s. Nathl., whose acct. incl. '2 journeys from Manch. to Wells.' Wid. Ruth d. at Manch. 5 Apr. 1716. Ch., perh. not all: Nathaniel, unkn. except that the fa. was 'senr.' in 1676; poss. the wit. with Saml. Pickworth at Manch. 1675. One Nathl. served under Maj. Appleton ag. the Narragansetts. John, with fa.'s consent, apprent. for 4 yrs. in Sept. 1674 to Wm.
