    4 Nathaniel Leffingwell, the fourth son of Lt. Thomas Leffingwell, was born at Saybrook, Dec. 11, 1656, and died at Norwich, Sept. 20, 1697. It is recorded that in Jan. 1687, he received from his father a gift of his 'whole right and interest, of and into the land over the River Shawtucket at the Ferry.' He married June 8, 1682, Mary Smith."
