"36 Nathaniel3 [Hibbard] (s. Robert2, Robert1), b. at Wenham, Mass., 1680; m. April 16, 1702, Sarah Crane; d. at Windham, April 20, 1725. He came to Windham with his father sometime between Oct. 29 and Dec. 10, 1700. They settled on that part of Windham long called Christian Street, where his father purchased his land, bounding on both sides of Beaver Brook. He was known as Sergeant H., and from the Col. Records May, 1712, we learn that 'additional wages voted to Nathaniel Hibbard, of Windham, as corporal, 4s. 4d., a soldier in late expedition against Canada.' The land purchased by him was owned and occupied by his descendants until the death of Chester Hibbard, in 1882.
His will, dated April 22, 1725, gives to his wife Sarah all personal estate and all the income from real estate while she is a widow. Nearly equal division among the chn. Inventory £700 9s. 6d."
