    Goodwin, Nathaniel, Hartford. Will dated 6 September, 1738: I, Nathaniel Goodwin of Hartford, do make this my last will and testament: I give to my son Hezekiah Goodwin all my houseing and lands in Hartford, to him and to his heirs forever, excepting the use and improvement of one of the rooms in my dwelling house, which I give to my daughter Johanna, which she shall choose, as also all needfull use of the cellar and so much of the gardens as she shall have occasion to improve, with the profits of 2 apple trees standing or growing in the garden, so long as she continues unmarried. I give all my wearing apparrel to my five sons, Hezekiah, Isaac, Abraham, Stephen and Eliezur Goodwin, to be equally divided among them. I give to my son Eleazer Goodwin my team and all the tackling belonging thereto, also one cow. I give to my daughter Johanna all my household goods excepting one bed, viz., the bed and furniture I now lye on, which I give to my daughter Bennet Goodrich. I give to my daughter Johanna Goodwin one cow, which she shall choose. I give to the eldest son of Jacob Goodrich, my son-in-law, a mare and sucking colt. I give to my five daughters, Metetabell Goodrich, Bennet Goodrich, Johanna Goodwin, Ruth Bird and Alice Cadwell, all of my money, with what is due to me by bonds or notes, to be equally divided among them (except to my daughter Bennet, so much to be subtracted out of her part as the featherbed and furniture before mentioned shall be valued at). And further, my mind and will is that what money is due to me from my sons Isaac and Stephen Goodwin may still lye in their hands for the space of two years from the date hereof before they pay the same, if they or either of them desire the same so long. I appoint Nathaniel Stanly, Esq., and my son Hez: Goodwin to be executors.
