    Finch, Nathaniel, s. of Daniel. Born at Fairfield abt. 1662, d. at Norwalk, abt. 1719. Adm'n granted 27 Jan. 1720/1 to son Samuel. Distribution ordered 10 Mar. 1720/1 to Widow; eldest son Samuel the other two children, Nathaniel and Lydia.; John, one of the sons, is also deceased. He was of Norwalk at death. He came to East Haven [doubtless with his mother when she m. Pinion], where by 1691 he m. Mary Hemingway … dau. of Samuel. He next m. her sister Elizabeth, but the marriage was denounced by all parties concerned and invalidated by the Court, and Elizabeth m. thereafter Zachariah How and Samuel Brockett [The New England Congregationalists long shared the prejudice of their English brethren against marriage to a deceased wife's sister, considering the relation as incestuous in nature]. He next removed to Branford, where he m. (3) Mary dau. of William Hoadley, widow of Jonathan Frisbie and Robert Darby. Nathaniel of Branford in 1697 leased land he owned in Fairfield on 5 Feb. 1693/4, when he was of New Haven, he sold Fairfield property to Albert Dennie.
