Jacobus included Nathaniel in the family of James Bishop (1699/1700-1780) in his 1923 sketch in the New Haven Genealogical Magazine, p. 1:203, but excluded Nathaniel from the sketch of that James in his 1949 article in The American Genealogist, p. 25:207, which corrected the earlier account. The inclusion of Nathaniel with James, his three wives, and daughter Sybil in the same grouping in the Hale Collection would seem to indicate that Nathaniel was of that family.
