Mrs. Wedmore, City Resident 82 Years, Dies

Mrs. Naomi Robbins Wedmore, who arrived in the Prescott area by wagon train in 1876, passed away early Sunday morning in a local hospital at the age of 87. Her death followed a lingering illness, and a four-year hospitalization.

Born in Casper County, Ark. July 7, 1871, Mrs. Wedmore was 5 years old when she and her parents and grandparents, the Tom Allreds and the James Robbins families settled near the present Mountain Club of Prescott after a long trek by wagon train.

Her grandfather Robbins drove the first heard of Hereford cattle from Arkansas to this area. Robbins Nob is named for her family.

At an early age, she became the bride of Harry H. Beebe, who passed away in 1934. She later was married to David L. Wedmore of Eagle, Colo., where the couple made their home for several years before establishing their local residence on Division street in Miller Valley, where Wedmore passed away.

Surviving Mrs. Wedmore are eight of her twelve children, Mrs. Florence Guber, N. Hollywood, Calif.: Mrs. Lois Bradbury and Mrs. Rhoda Dean, Phoenix: Mrs. Roxie Hutson, Gila Bend; Sam and Mark Beebe, Tucson: Robert Beebe Chandler; and George Beebe, Los Angeles, Calif. There are nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. A brother, Willis W. Robbins, Los Angeles, also survives.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Ruffner Funeral Hone Tuesday, July 22,, at 3 p.m. by Dr. Charles Franklin Parker of the First Congregational church.

Interment in the family plot of the Mountain View cemetery will follow.

[NOTE: This obit says she was born in "Casper County, Arkansas," but there's no such place.]
