A book called Lost Utopias p. 15, claims she was a cousin of Benjamin Thompson of Woburn (Count Rumford), but the connection has not been traced.. The family having children in Sterling about the time of her birth were a couple named Benjamin Jr. and Elizabeth Thompson, but there is no birth for Nancy recorded.
