Nancy Jane Russell Hainey, the wife of Jackson Williams Hainey was born December 3, 1827 in eastern Tennessee. On March 9, 1847 she married Jackson W. Hainey and they lived in Pulaski County, Kentucky. To this union ten children were born.
The family moved to Illinois in 1868 and then to Kansas in March of 1872 settling in Green, Clay County.
After the passing of her husband, she spent her remaining years with a daughter in Ogden, Iowa. Mrs. Hainey died on Christmas day of 1918.
She was a homemaker most of her life and played a big part in organizing the Baptist Church in Green. She was converted at the age of 17 and united with the Baptist Church in Pulaski County, KY. She and her husband were charter members of the Baptist Church in Green.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Green on Saturday, December 28th; Rev. F. A. Whittlesey officiated. Burial was in Fancy Creek Cemetery north of Green.
