[Note: this birthdate is widely asserted on the Internet, but the basis for it is unknown. It is not found in Scituate VRs or other easily accessible records. Even this source notes that William Clapp "probably lived in Scituate", suggesting the birthdate does not have a basis in records (which would show where he lived, after all), though it could come from a Bible, etc. Despite the doubts about the birthdate, the facts of Nancy's parentage are clearly shown by her father's probate which distributes a share to Nancy Wheeler Wife of Daniel Wheeler, and her mother's 1833 will (as may be seen in MD, Vol. 22, p. 20) naming daughter Nancy Wheeler, and subsequent codicil on 9 Dec 1834 noting that her daughter Nancy Wheeler had died.]
