Jan. 18, 1836, at Bloomingdale, near Patterson, N. J. He rendered about nine months' actual service in the Revolutionary War as a private in the N. Y. troops, and was mostly engaged in guard duty — from June, 1777, at intervals, to Oct., 1782, under Capt. Barnadoes Swartout, Capt. Hendrick Lenne and Col. A. H. Hays. Of 16 children:
