Full Obituary: Myron Schwinger, age 92, of Hubbard, IA, died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Hubbard Care Center. Myron Henry Schwinger was born October 2, 1921, in Hubbard, Iowa, the son of Henry and Kathrina (Faust) Schwinger. Myron grew up on the family farm three miles northwest of Hubbard. He attended country school through eighth grade then went to Hubbard High School from which he graduated in 1939. He worked on his fathers farm until he married Beulah Knopf, daughter of Dr. Eugene and Nellie (Hof) Knopf of Hubbard, on September 17, 1942. The couple lived briefly with Myrons parents, spent 1943-1945 living on the Marshman farm, then took over the family farm where they lived and worked the land for sixty-five years.Myron was confirmed in the Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church of Hubbard and attended regularly, being a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and active member until 1968. At that time, he joined Faith Evangelical Church of Radcliffe where he was chairman of the mission board, vice-president and president of the church as well as Sunday school teacher for the adult class.Myron was a member of the Farm Bureau and truly enjoyed farming, raising milk cows, chickens, and hogs as well as corn, hay and soybeans. He was a good family historian, passing along many family stories, names, and dates. He enjoyed a good game of lawn croquette, pool, and checkers. Music, especially from a hymnal, was one of his interests. Like his father, Henry, Myron produced a fine garden of vegetables for many summers. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will remember him especially for the exciting sled rides he took them on during the winter. Those who remain to share his memory include daughter Ramona Kay and husband Dr. Gary Boeke of Sartell, MN; daughter Connie Jean and husband Tim Eklund of Rush City, MN; son Randolph Eugene of Radcliffe; son Charles Myron and wife Ruth (Ockers) currently from Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren Kija (Boeke) Robberstad, Dion Boeke, Kory Boeke, Carissa (Boeke) Moreland, Sonja (Eklund) Neiger, Ingrid (Eklund) Anderson, Jonathan Schwinger, Jeremy Schwinger, Christopher Schwinger, and eleven great-grandchildren.Myron is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Beulah, his parents, brothers Wallace and Milton Schwinger and Carroll Nassen, and sister Kathryn Nassen. We give thanks for the life, the memory, and the witness of Myron Schwinger. I Tim 6:6 Godliness with contentment is great gain.Memorials: Memorial contributions may be directed toward the AWANA Program at Faith Evangelical Church, 26902 Co. Hwy.
