WALKER, Moses, [died] Feb. 23, 1841, a. 68. [Birth about 1773]
↑ This Moses Walker is unidentified. Even his death is somewhat speculative based on location and approximate age. He is slightly younger than would be expected for a marriage in 1791, but there seems to be only one Moses Walker in Royalston in the early 1800s. He is not the son of Obadiah Walker Jr. and Hephzibah Shumway, whose son Moses was born in Sutton 1761, who is shown by a deed [Worcester 138:61-2 ] to be of Croydon, NH, in 1799, as outlined more fully in Source:Child, Wm. H. History of the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire, p. 385, accounting before he moved there, for the 1782 marriage of Moses Walker and Tabitha Barton found in Royalston. Since the Moses of this page and his wife Lydia stayed in Royalston, as shown by the births of their children and various deeds, he is from a separate family. The brother of Obadiah Walker Jr., Thomas Walker and his wife Lucy (Rice), who were having children in Royalston about the time of Moses' birth and would appear to be possible candidate parents, but no birth record, deed, or probate has been found that confirms this possibility.
