MILO WOOTEN DEAD
Agen Resident of Windfall Community Victim of Cancer
Milo Wooten, age 81 [should be 51], lifelong resident of the community southwest of Windfall, lost a fight against cancer Friday evening, death occurring at 10:15 o'clock at the family home in Windfall.
Mr. Wooten had not been well for sosme time, but had been able to be out until a few days ago. Thursday evening he entered the Good Samaritan Hospital at Kokomo, and it was at first thought an operation would be performed. However, in examination, the cancer was discovered and he was returned to his home Friday evening, the attending physician stating that nothing further could be done for him.
Funeral services have been announced for Sunday afternoon at 2:30 op'clock at the Brethren Church, southwest of Windfall, with the pastor, Rev. Alva Hewitt, in charge. Burial will be in the Brookside cemetery at Windfall.
Milo Wooten was born on a farm three miles west of Windfall, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wooten, and all of his life was spent in that community. The father has been deceased for a number of years, but the mother, Mrs. Emery Stout of Windfall survives. He is also survived by the widow, formerly Miss Della Richey of Windfall and three children, Velma at home, and Mrs. Elmer Richards and Mrs. Elsie Collins of Windfall. One child is deceased.
He was a member of the Brethren Church near Windfall. His only occupation was farming, and he had gained a reputation as a fine neighbor and friend, and a man who will be greatly missed in that locality.
