SUMTER, SC - Milford Wilson Sears, Jr., 84, husband of KathleenGriffin Sears for 65 years, died Friday, October 6, 2006, inTuomey Regional Medical Center

Born in Edison, Georgia, he was the son of the late MilfordWilson Sears and the late Eddie Dean Smith Sears.

Mr. Sears retired from Sifco Industries in 1985, with 43 yearsof service, at which time he was the president and CEO. Upon hisretirement he remained active in the ice industry assecretary/treasurer of the Southern Ice Exchange until 2004. Heserved in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 165thEngineer Combat Battalion (European Theater of Operations), wasa member of the American Legion Post 15 and Grace BaptistChurch.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Milford W. "Mick" Sears, IIIof Sumter and Donald Alexander Sears and wife, Cathie, ofColumbia; a daughter, Sandra S. Coleman and husband, Gerald, ofHilton Head; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sears was preceded in death by a son, Robert Leroy Sears,four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the chapel ofElmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. JamesChandler officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday atElmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
