Michael Hailey

MIAMI, Okla. … Michael Rex Hailey, 50, 403 Bay St., died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1996, at Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, after a long illness.

Mr. Hailey was born April 30, 1946, at Neosho, Mo. He had lived in the Miami area most of his life. He graduated from Miami High School in 1964 and from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering.

He worked for Texas Instruments at Richardson, Texas, for 12 years and for Eagle-Picher Industries in Miami for 16 years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Miami. He served in the Navy's avionics division from 1964 to 1968.

He married Linda Marie Shipman on April 8, 1966, in Miami. She survive

Additional survivors include three sons, Michael R. Hailey II, rural Miami, Jeremy Hailey, Miami, and Matthew Thomas Hailey, Fort Campbell, Ky.; a daughter, Sarah Sorrentino, Miami; three sisters, Sharon Campbell, Broken Arrow, Sandra Hunt, Austin, Texas, and Sue Sly, Miami; and three grandchildren.

The body was donated to the University of Kansas Medical Center School of Medicine, Kansas City, Kan.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Miami. The Rev. Charles Horton will officiate.
