MICHAEL ELROD was born in 1786 in North Carolina.

Michael married ELIZABETH DAVIS, the daughter of JOHN DAVIS, on June 20, 1807 in Wayne County, Kentucky. Elizabeth's father signed for the marriage of his daughter and Michael Elrod. John Davis may have been from Pulaski County, Tennessee though Michael and Elizabeth married in Wayne County, Kentucky.

Michael is listed in the Pulaski County, Kentucky Tax List for 1818, 1819, 1820, 1821, 1822, 1824, and 1829.

Michael bought land in Warren County, Kentucky about 1840. Older members of the family said, "When Michael and Elizabeth Elrod came to Warren County, Kentucky, they came by wagon from Pulaski County, Kentucky and the wagon was so full, all the older children walked behind the wagon."
