Merghen Stevense van Voorhees, born circa 1636 at Netherlands; married first Roelof Oostinge 19 Nov 1664 at Ruinerwold; married second Remmelt Willmse after 1673; died 28 Oct 1702.

She is mentioned several times in letters from Hilbert Coerts to her brother Koert and was living in Dwingelo, Netherlands in 1684. E. van Voorhis says she was living with her son-in-law Jan van Echten. She is also mentioned in the will of her brother-in-law John Kiers as his wife's sister "Martie" living in The Netherlands.

The names of her children are listed in The Van Voorhees Family, as is the date of her death and places of residence of her children, for which we have no other source. If indeed she was living in Holland in 1705 when John Kier's will is written then her death date is incorrect.
