MERCY, bp. 6 Sept. 1778, prob. twin." Source:Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States. Vital Records to the Year 1850, p. 58, lists the baptism of Sarah (under CUSHMON), but has no baptism of Mercy under either CUSHMAN or CUSHMON. The probate file of the father [#5858] shows he died intestate, his estate was insolvent, so there is no distribution, division or other list of heirs.
The only source cited by MF5G, that seems pertinent to Mercy, appears to be Source:Cushman, Henry Wyles. Historical and Biographical Genealogy of the Cushmans, p. 231, which says "Mercy, m. (1) --- Churchill, m. (2) --- Thomas. Left one son, Cushman Thomas, who lives in Middleboro." Obviously no marriage records were found. Neither is a death record for Mercy Thomas obvious. This source was published in 1855, so one assumes the author talked to the principals, or to people that knew them, but no Cushman Thomas is found in the Middleborough records or in 1850 census. Of course the juxtaposition of these two husbands' names suggest Churchill Thomas, who married Hannah, daughter of same parents. Alternately, since nobody by that first name is found, two sons using Cushman as a middle name (Joseph Soule Cushman Thomas and Robert Cushman Thomas) were born to Elisha Thomas and Elizabeth, daughter of same parents. So there are a lot of potential people to get confused about, and it is not clear how real this Mercy is???
