    Mrs. Melva Maxson, 91, formerly of 321 Rogers St., Milton, died Friday, Oct. 31, in Mercy Hospital, Janesville after a long illness.
    The former Melva Thorngate was born on Jan. 9, 1895, in North Loop, Neb., where she married Rolland Maxson on Sept. 17, 1919. He died in 1971. A longtime resident of Milton, Mrs. Maxson was an avid bird watcher and banded birds for the federal wildlife program.
    Surviving are two sons, Rolland of Oceanside, Calif., and Keith of Milton; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice and A Madison.
    Services were held at the Albrecht Funeral Home-Milton on Monday, Nov. 3, with burial in the Milton Cemetery.
