Regarding Melinda's (or Malinda's?) tombstone picture, "White Creek" is unaware of where it came from! Over 95% of the tombstone pictures I have posted on WeRelate, have been taken by myself. The rest I have written to the owner, and requested permission. This image I just haven't known. I studied it and it seemed to be in Falls Cemetery. Then I noticed a stone, just to the right of the top of Melinda's stone, which is small, and hard to see. Enlarged, it says RIDGEWAY, and then I recognized it as being of Melinda's granddaughter, Bonnie (Lower) Ridgeway, who is buried next to her mother, Mary I. (Dunfee) Lower, and her husband Samuel Lower! Samuel & Mary's stone is not visible in this picture. The view here is to the south, near the road that runs near the southwestern part of the Cemetery.

I had no idea that Melinda was buried near her daughter and granddaughter!

It looks like the tombstone shows a birth date of 1847.

  4. Melinda's (or Malinda?) name difficult to read in the census. This census page contained the various families of DANIEL LOWER (1792-1876) and his wife Apollonia (says "Epsalen" in the census). Therefore the families knew each other long before Melinda's daughter (Mary I.) married Samuel Lower! Samuel's father was enumerated on this same census page!
