'All of the Anabaptists of Schleitheim were exiled except for a few older men. Melchior was an old täufer in 1612 at Schleitheim when he was allowed to stay in Schleitheim with another old Anabaptist, Hans Meyer (possibly his father). In 1620 he and his two sons were put in prison but later escaped. When they were caught they had to pay a fine.'
