"Maynard (Day), b. [say 1684]: bur. at Hartford, 12 May 1759; … His will, dated 16 Feb. 1759, proved 29 May 1759, gave to wife Elizabeth what she had at marriage, the use of all movable estate for life, and use of all real and personal estate while unmarried or a third if she remarries; remainder to young kinsman, Samuel Day, Jr., and if he die without male issue, then to young kinsman, Joseph Day, son to 'my nephew Samll Day.' Kinsman Mr. Wm Cadwell, and Mr. Samll Talcott, executors."

[footnote] "William Cadwell's mother was a daughter of Thomas Butler, and this indicates that Maynard Day's mother was Sarah Butler, making him first cousin of Cadwell."

William Cadwell married Ruth Marsh, sister of Maynard Day's wife Elizabeth Marsh, so the relationship did not necessarily go through Maynard's mother.
