Obituary from The Fargo Forum, June 11, 1957 "Mrs. Aask Dies At 84 Mrs. George J. (Mattie) Aask, 84, of 1517 9th St. N., who came to Fargo more than 50 years ago, died Monday after an illness of 3-1/2 years duration. The funeral will be at 2 Thursday in Merril Moore Mortuary, the Rev. Emerson J. Sanderson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Aask, the former Mattie Evangeline Thomas, was born in Lunenberg, Vt., Jan. 24 1873, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond T. Thomas. The family came to Dakota Territory in 1885. She was married to Mr. Aask in Fargo Sept. 24, 1906. Mr. Aask, for a number of years was a conductor on the Fargo-Moorhead street railway. Besides her husband, Mrs. Aask leaves a son, Raymond T. of 709 4th St. S., Moorhead; a daughter, Mrs. Mina Cunningham, Henderson, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Two children preceded her in death. Mrs. Aask was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and its ladies aid, a member of Women's Relief Corps and a life member of the Eagles Auxiliary."
