    Matthew Stillman Burdick died at his residence in Milton Friday, Jan. 7, 1887, at 3:15 a. m., aged 59 years.

    Mr. Burdick was born at Darien, Genesse Co., N. Y., March 17, 1827, and came to Milton about 30 years ago, where he resided until his death. He was married in 1858. During his long residence in Milton he has won the universal respect of all who knew him.

    For the past four years he has been an invalid, most of the time confined to the house, and several times so low that his death was hourly expected. The funeral was held Sunday at 2 p. m., Rev E. M. Dunn conducting the services, his remains being interred in the Milton cemetery. A wife and two children and a large circle of friends mourn his death.
