From the Pickering News of February 18:
We are sorry to announce the death of Mrs. Wm. Sadler, of this place [Greenwood]. She was one of our oldest residents. She conducted the Methodist Sabbath school for years. In fact was a mother to every person, loved and respected by the whole neighbourhood, and always of a loving and kind nature with a kind word for every person. Mrs. Sadler leaves a large grown up family, respected as they are by every person. She lived to the good old age of 80 years. Funeral takes place on Friday 18th, to Salem cemetery, when no doubt the neighbourhood generally will pay their last tribute of respect. We can only offer our sympathy to all the relations of deceased in their sad hours of bereavement. She having lived an exemplary life on this earth, her reward will surely be great, and whatever her loss may be to those left behind will certainly be her gain in the world to come.
